GASTON COUNTY, NC — The search continues for a child predator in Gaston County.

Police believe the same man who tried to kidnap a 10-year-old boy in McAdenville may have tried it again—this time at a school bus stop.

The latest possible sighting was Thursday when someone called police and said they saw a man, fitting the suspect description, walking along a school fence in Mount Holly.

Police say the same man may have approached kids at a bus stop near Mount Holly Middle School last Thursday and Friday morning.

“Attempted to get them to get in the car with him, and he offered alcohol to them and told them they needed to skip school and go with him,” said Mount Holly Police Chief Don Roper.

The kids told investigators the suspect also said he had pornography and wanted them to party with him.

Parents are keeping an eye out for the man some call “The Creeper”.

“I hope they find him and put him away, because there’s no reason for people like him to be out on the streets where he can just do anything to anyone’s children,” said Heather Thompson, a Mount Holly resident.

Parents at Mount Holly schools have been notified and are asked to talk to their kids and keep a look out.

The suspect is a white man between 30 and 40 years old with brown, reddish hair and a beard, weighing about 200 pounds. Police say the suspect is driving a light blue Nissan or Honda.

The description of the man and his vehicle match the description of a man who tried to kidnap a 10-year-old boy at McDonald Athletic Field in McAdenville less than two weeks ago.

“I hope he gets caught quick before he’s able to get ahold of some child,” said Shane Cross, a Mount Holly resident.

While parents worry the man may target their children, they also worry about how their kids are handling the news.

“The only thing we knew to do was to tell our children, and now our children are scared to go to school,” said Thompson.
