Charlotte Asked to Submit Bid for 2016 Republican National Convention

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte is among 27 cities that have been invited to put in a bid to host the 2016 Republican National Convention. The Queen City reportedly made the list because of the success the city had hosting the 2012 Democratic National Convention. The DNC generated about $164 million dollars.

Congressman Robert Pittenger announced he will support efforts to bring the Republican National Convention to Charlotte in 2016.

February 26th is the deadline to submit a bid for the RNC.
