Rocky River High School Student Killed in NE Charlotte Accident

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say a 14-year-old has died after an accident in northeast Charlotte. On Monday, around 2:33 p.m., Dayron Warren was driving a 1994 Passport SUV on Camp Stewart Road when he attempted to go around a curve. Authorities say Warren was unable to get around the curve safely and began over-correcting his steering. The vehicle then slid sideways and began to flip several times. 

Warren and the 14-year-old girl were both thrown from the SUV. When MEDIC arrived on the scene, they transported the young girl to Carolinas Medical Center University. She later died at the hospital. The other occupants were transported to Carolinas Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. 

Dayron Warren has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and reckless driving.
