WAXHAW,NC–Mayor of Waxhaw Daune Gardner will not go to jail for drunk driving after pleading guilty Wednesday.
A judge gave the second term Mayor a 30 day suspended sentence, 12 months of unsupervised probation and 24 hours of community service.
She also lost her driver’s license.
A Waxhaw police officer arrested Gardner after spotting her driving erratically on highway 16 last summer.
