A teenage girls attempt to embrace her Native American heritage got her labeled a trouble maker.
The 13 year old girl is a member of the First Nation Tribe in Canada.
She says she couldn’t wait to wear her “got land, thank and indian” sweatshirt to school.
The girl thought it was a nod to her culture but the teacher who made her take it off disagreed.
The chief to the First Nation intervened and got the school to overturn the girl’s dress code violation.
Now she can wear the shirt anytime she wants.
