Woman Arrested in North Charlotte Road Rage Incident

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two people are in the hospital with serious injuries following a road rage incident in north Charlotte. According to police, two women were involved in some sort of argument, got in their cars and began wrecklessly driving behind one another. Witnesses say one of the cars swiped a car that was parked on the side of the road injuring two pedestrians. 

MEDIC says they transported both pedestrians to Carolinas Medical Center. One person was treated for life threatening injuries and another for potentially life threatening injuries.

Police said following the road rage accident, the two drivers pulled over to a gas station on LaSalle Street and began fighting. Police arrested Jessica Ekwuruibe and charged her with reckless driving, felony hit and run, no operator’s license and assault. The other driver’s name has not been released at this time.

We are told the second driver is not facing charges.
