Teen Arrested After Leading Police On High Speed Chase In Rock Hill

NEWPORT, S.C. — A teenager from Rock Hill led police on a high speed chase after employees at a local Walmart caught her shoplifting. 

Investigators say Zekiya Knox was seen stealing items from the store by loss prevention employees. 

Knox and another person were last seen leaving the area in a black car.  Officers were able to locate the getaway vehicle a short time later. 

Cops say they initiated a traffic stop.  The driver pulled the vehicle over and stopped briefing but then sped off a short time later. 

The chase ended with the suspect crashing into another vehicle.  Knox tried to run from the scene but was eventually caught by police.

She has been charged with shoplifting, failure to stop for blue light and siren and leaving the scene of an accident.
