GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Police are conducting a death investigation in Mount Holly. Investigators were called to a home on Michelle Lane where two people were found dead.
Detectives say this was a murder-suicide. Initial investigation reveals 69-year-old Clyde Benfield shot his wife, 64-year-old Terri Benfield, then himself.
Police say there were no prior calls of service to the residence and no reported incidents of domestic violence in the past.
