Major Weather Event Could Impact The Carolinas

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A major weather event will impact the Carolinas this week.Β  WCCB’s Chief Meteorologist Reg Taylor says the cold front could produce 4 inches of snow for the North Carolina coast and up to an inch in the Charlotte area.Β Β 

A winter weather advisory has been issued for Mecklenburg County from noon Tuesday until 9am Wednesday.

There is a 70% chance of light snow in the Charlotte area late Tuesday evening.Β  Charlotte could see up to one inch of snow.Β  This could change as new weather models come in overnight.

When the cold front arrives our temperatures will drop into the low 20’s.Β  The Charlotte area will stay below freezing all day Tuesday.Β
