CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools are dismissing schools two hours in preparation of the winter weather expected in Charlotte.

An early dismissal schedule means:
- All buses will run routes two hours earlier than the normal time.
- All after-school and athletic activities are canceled. This includes open house sessions.
- ASEP staff will remain at sites until all children have been picked up. Parents are urged to pick up students as soon as possible.
- Lunch will be served at all schools.
CMS will continue to monitor weather and road conditions throughout the evening. They will communicate information about tomorrowβs schedule later this evening. The Board of Education meeting scheduled for tonight at 6 p.m. has been canceled. The new meeting date and time will be determined in the coming days.
