Cops Searching For Suspect Who Stole Weapons From Police Cruisers

GASTONIA, N.C. — Police have released a picture of a suspect’s vehicle who is accused of breaking into two police cars and stealing weapons and tactical gear. 

A Rowan County Sheriff’s Office deputy was attending a conference in Gastonia when his vehicle was broken into while parked at a hotel on Remount Road in Gastonia. 

A second patrol vehicle belonging to the High Point Police Department was also broken into. 

The suspect vehicle is described as a silver or light gold Ford SUV, possibly an Explorer or Escape.  Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-861-8000.
