Man on the Edge: Get Paid to Get Sick

 Medical testing is probably not a great long-term career path.  But tonight, the government is offering guinea pigs cash to catch what’s going around.  This year’s flu strain means business.  In North Carolina, 35 people have died.  Nationwide, it’s in the hundreds.

Volunteers of the test agree to be quarantined and poked and prodded by researchers.  Scientists spray the flu virus up your nose, then you wait it out, and collect the cash.  Of course, there’s a risk.  Test subjects could get very sick… and maybe even die.
