ROCK HILL, S.C. — Evening classes on Winthrop University’s campus have been canceled after a contractor hit a service line causing a power outage to all fo the main campus . As a result, Winthrop officials canceled night classes beginning at 5 p.m.
Duke Power had the power restored by 4:35 p.m. However, the university’s heating plant went off-line and will take until 8 p.m. to get back to full capacity.
Classes will resume on Friday.
