Man on the Edge: The Onion VS Charlotte

This video is no longer available.

Charlotte!  For some of us, it’s the perfect place to be.  The city where we want to be because it has the perfect blend of everything.  For others, it’s a stop on the way to somewhere else.  The place they put up with while they work on their real destination.  And for others still, it’s the place they “ended up” between there and there.  But is it really a “compromise”?

We’re asking because of the Onion article somebody shared on your Facebook page or Twitter.  And we know they did, because everybody is sharing it.  It’s a satire written from the perspective of a fictitious guy named “Mike Collier” who becomes aware that he’s settling in Charlotte.  For example:

“‘Wait, hold on a second, am I… am I building a life for myself in Charlotte, North Carolina?’ … as it suddenly dawned on him he’d recently renewed his membership at a gym in downtown Charlotte for another year. ‘No no no, this can’t be right. I’m not settling down and making a go of it in Charlotte. Am I?'”

So do you guys agree?  Our Man on the Edge set out to see if Charlotte is a compromise to you…
