Β Charlotte! Β For some of us, it’s the perfect place to be. Β The city where we want to be because it has the perfect blend of everything. Β For others, it’s a stop on the way to somewhere else. Β The place they put up with while they work on their real destination. Β And for others still, it’s the place they “ended up” between there and there. Β But is it really a “compromise”?
We’re asking because of the Onion article somebody shared on your Facebook page or Twitter. Β And we know they did, because everybody is sharing it. Β It’s a satire written from the perspective of a fictitious guy named “Mike Collier” who becomes aware that he’s settling in Charlotte. Β For example:
“‘Wait, hold on a second, am I… am I building a life for myself in Charlotte, North Carolina?’ … as it suddenly dawned on him heβd recently renewed his membership at a gym in downtown Charlotte for another year. ‘No no no, this canβt be right. Iβm not settling down and making a go of it in Charlotte. Am I?'”
So do you guys agree? Β Our Man on the Edge set out to see if Charlotte is a compromise to you…
