CHARLOTTE,NC–Attorney’s for the CMPD officer indicted on voluntary manslaughter charges are trying to get the civil case against him moved to federal court.
They filed the paper work Monday.
Officer, Wes Kerrick, shot and killed 24 year old Jonathan Ferell in east Charlotte in September.
Ferrell’s family filed a wrongful death civil suit in Mecklenburg County Court last month.
