CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Black Film Festival celebrates its fourth year during the CIAA Tournament.
The festival features independent films, workshops, and panel discussions expressing the African-American experience.
Organizers want to raise awareness and the need for African-American cinema as an art form.
The series lasts three days.
Founder Tommy Nichols says he wants to bring diversity to the films.
Michael Foster made “The Addiction”. He says the festival is a great platform to get the work out in the open and legitimize the film.
