Union County Board of Education Hosts Public Hearings for Overcrowding Issue

UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Parents in Union County will have a chance to tell the school board what they think about a controversial redistricting plan. The Union County Board of Education announced they will hold two public hearings on the options to be considered to address overcrowding in schools.

The first public hearing will happen on Thursday, February 27, at Monroe High School at 6 p.m. The second will be on Monday, March 3, at Parkwood High School, at 6 p.m. 

Parents have been frustrated that the school board hasn’t heard them. Their upset about a plan that would shift almost 6,000 students to different schools.
