CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Did you know it’s America Saves Week? The focus is to encourage savings and financial literacy.
Marsha Barnes is one of the Frugal Fab Five, a group of financial bloggers and professionals who will be in town this week for a meet and greet.
Barnes says focus on paying down your bills first and then save.
She says go by the 50-30-20 rule. Fifty percent of your money should go towards paying bills, 30 percent towards household necessities and put 20 percent in savings.
