Run Wild 5K & Wild Child Fun Run

The Lake Norman-based African Children‘s Project will host the third annual Run Wild 5K & Wild Child Fun Run on Saturday, May 10, at the Birkdale Residence Club in Huntersville. Registration is $25 for the 8 a.m. Run/Walk 5K and $10 for the 9 a.m. Wild Child Fun Run. This is a family-friendly event combining a ChampionChip timed 5K run/walk with a one mile run/walk for kids, ages 11 and under. Cash awards will be presented to 1st and 2nd place overall male and female runners and additional awards for the top three finishers in 11 age groups. Proceeds will support the nonprofit‘s first home for children orphaned as a direct result of the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Embu, Kenya.
