HICKORY, N.C. — Firefighters battled a massive apartment fire early Friday morning in Hickory.
Crews had to evacuate residents after the flames ripped through the roof of the building off 9th Avenue Place Southwest around 2:30 a.m.
The Red Cross is assisting families that were displaced by the fire. No injuries were reported. Fire investigators were called to the scene to determine a cause.
