CHARLOTTE,NC– Duke Energy has to stop coal ash pond contamination.
A judge ordered the utility to take immediate action to keep toxins from leaking from it’s coal ash ponds.
Thursday’s ruling is on a complaint filed before last month’s massive leak into the Dan River.
There are at least 32 coal ash dumps across North Carolina, including one at Mountain Island Lake.
