MARSHVILLE, NC – A woman was found slumped over and bleeding in her car in Union County just after 3 a.m. Sunday morning.Β
Marshville Police said drivers spotted the car in the road on South White Street. The woman inside was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the woman had head injuries and that there was no sign of a car accident. The woman had just recently moved to the area.

SBI Agents were seen looking through nearby trash cans and a yard nearby on Sunday. Investigators are waiting on the results of an autopsy for an exact cause of dead.

Police will not identify the woman until the family has been notified.
