Husband Arrested in Shooting Death of Wife in Marshville

MARSHVILLE, N.C. — An arrest has been made in the murder of Alicia Sligh, whose body was found in a car on South White Street on Sunday.

Marshville Police say, 37-year-old Reginald Allen, the husband of the victim, confessed to the killing. During the investigation, police say he led investigators to the location of the gun used to kill Alicia. 

On Sunday around 3 a.m., two people found Sligh in her car and called police. When officers arrived, they found the victim in the car with a gunshot wound to the head. She died at the scene. 

Alicia Sligh moved to the area from Massachusetts. 

Reginald Allen has been arrested and charged with first degree murder, kidnapping and possession of firearm by convicted felon and is being held in the Union County Jail without bond.
