Police: Two-Year-Old Taken From Home With Active Meth Lab

LANCASTER, S.C. — A call to police in reference to a man overdosing ended up with the discovery of an active meth lab in Lancaster. 

Detectives say officers responded to a home on Crestfield Drive in reference to a man who was unconscious.  Once they arrived on the scene, they realized there was an active meth lab in the home. 

The man was taken to a local hospital and is in serious condition.  Police arrested Christy Knight.  They say she had her two-year-old son inside the home. 

The child was decontaminated and taken by the Department of Social Services. 

Knight has been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and exposing a child to methamphetamine.  Additional charges are expected.
