CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have released the identity of a suspect who is accused of shooting at officers in northwest Charlotte.

An exchange of gunfire occurred in a northwest Charlotte neighborhood after officers were attempting an undercover drug buy.

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Rodney Monroe, around 7:55 p.m., two officers were robbed while trying to buy cocaine from Jimmie Harris Jr. near Jordans Pond Lane.

Harris left the scene in a vehicle driven by an unknown female.
