YORK COUNTY, S.C. — A 9-year-old girl and a 71-year-old woman have been shot and killed in Rock Hill. Β The shooting happened on Idlewild Drive near Hilton Road. Β The York County Coroner’s Office has identified the girl as Mia Rodgers and the woman as Barbara Gregory. Β Β
The York Co. Sheriff’s Office says their investigation started with a 911 hangup call. Β A deputy went to the addess where the call originated around 10:20 AM FridayΒ to make a welfare check, opened the door and discovered the girl and woman dead. Β The deputy also found a third person shot. Β
That person, also believed to the be the suspect, is 67-year-old Ronald Gregory. Β He was transported to Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill. Β There is no further information about his condition or motive for the shooting at this time. Β
