
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) along with SWAT Team members arrested 25-year-old Jimmie Harris, Junior without incident Friday afternoon. Β He was located near the 6200 block of South Boulevard.
He was taken to police headquarters for questioning by detectives. Β Harris will then be booked into the Mecklenburg County jail, where he will remain in custody.Β
CMPD got an arrest warrant for Harris on charges of attempted murder, assault with a firearm on a law enforcement officer, armed robbery and possession of a firearm by felon, all stemming from a March 20 officer-involved shooting. Β
The shooting happened on Jordans Pond Lane in Coulwood. Β Chief Rodney Monroe told WCCB that Harris tried to rob undercover officers during a drug buy. Β The officers did not get hurt.Β
Harris, who is 6’1″ and goes by the street name “Black,” is also wanted on unrelated attempted murder charges in South Carolina.Β
