
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) along with SWAT Team members arrested 25-year-old Jimmie Harris, Junior without incident Friday afternoon. He was located near the 6200 block of South Boulevard.
He was taken to police headquarters for questioning by detectives. Harris will then be booked into the Mecklenburg County jail, where he will remain in custody.
CMPD got an arrest warrant for Harris on charges of attempted murder, assault with a firearm on a law enforcement officer, armed robbery and possession of a firearm by felon, all stemming from a March 20 officer-involved shooting.
The shooting happened on Jordans Pond Lane in Coulwood. Chief Rodney Monroe told WCCB that Harris tried to rob undercover officers during a drug buy. The officers did not get hurt.
Harris, who is 6’1″ and goes by the street name “Black,” is also wanted on unrelated attempted murder charges in South Carolina.
