UNDATED (AP) β€” The first week of NCAA men’s tournament games ends tonight. One of the games on top has Mercer, the surprise team that upset Duke on Friday, facing Tennessee in Raleigh, N.C. The other game in Raleigh has Virginia squaring off with Memphis.

UNDATED (AP) β€” The two-game, season-opening series in Australia between the Dodgers and Diamondbacks is over with L.A. having won both games. The second contest took place overnight, U.S time, with the Dodgers winning 7-5. They won the opener the day before 3-1.

LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) β€” No deal. That’s the bottom line for American League Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer and the Detroit Tigers. They failed to reach agreement on a long-term contract and will not negotiate again until after the season. Scherzer struck out 240 batters in 214 1-3 innings last season, and went 21-3 with a 2.90 ERA.

FONTANA, Calif. (AP) β€” The NASCAR stop today is in Fontana, Calif., and has Matt Kenseth starting from the pole. He grabbed the top spot in Friday’s qualifying with a lap of 187.315 miles per hour. The pole is his first of the season and 12th of his NASCAR career.

STORRS, Conn. (AP) β€” Connecticut, the top seed in the women’s NCAA basketball tournament, starts play tonight. The Huskies have a game with Prairie View.
