CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say the man who was found dead on the side of the road in southwest Charlotte was murdered at a different location.
Investigators say Brian Jones was found on Old Dowd Road near I-485 Sunday night. However, detectives believe he was murdered at another located and dropped off on the side of the road.
He was found by an officer who was conducting routine patrol in the area. Police say Jones was suffering from apparent trauma but died a short time after police located him.
Detectives are asking anyone who saw Jones on Sunday to contact CMPD Homicide Detectives at 704-432-TIPS. Jones was last seen driving a green, 1998 Mazda 626 with NC tag AMK-4692.
