CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Brittany Dixon, “A Healthy Slice of Life” blogger, says skip the grocer’s freezer – we’re making our own “Uncrustables” with almond butter and jam!

Dixon says it’s a fun way to make a pocket-sized sandwich for your little one.

Here’s the recipe:

Use a loaf of bread, almond butter, and jam. Mix it together.

Gently pinch together the sides to seal and place sandwiches on a baking sheet.

Freeze for 4 hours, then place all sandwiches into an airtight container or freezer bag and place in freezer. 7.

Place frozen sandwich in a lunch box in the morning and it will be defrosted by lunch! Or, for immediate eating, simply microwave for 10-15 seconds.
