CHARLOTTE, N.C — Elevation Church Pastor Steven Furtick was seen arriving at ex-Charlotte Mayor Patrick Cannon’s home Friday morning and leaving around an hour later, a Bible in hand.
When asked for comment, Chunks Corbett of Elevation Church gave the following statement:
“Today Pastor Steven Furtick visited the Cannon family in their home to pray for them during this most trying time in their lives. Our church will continue to pray for the Cannon family and all of the leaders of the city of Charlotte in the days to come.“
Steven Furtick donated a large sum of money to one of Cannon’s programs within the timeframe of the alleged corruption. Furtick also gave the invocation at Patrick’s swearing in and worked together in Patrick’s first 100 days in office.
