The winners advance to the Final Four next week.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — When Kentucky plays Michigan in their regional final tomorrow the Wildcats may be without forward Willie Cauley-Stein. He had a walking boot on his left foot today and coach John Calipari says the sophomore is doubtful for tomorrow’s game. Cauley-Stein left last night’s win over Louisville with about 13 minutes left in the first half and did not return.
KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. (AP) — Serena Williams has beaten Li Na (lee nah) for a record seventh Sony Open title. The No. 1 ranked Williams won the match over the second-ranked player in the world 7-5, 6-1 in Key Biscayne, Fla.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Philadelphia 76ers have dropped 26 straight games. Tonight they will attempt to end the skid with a win over the Detroit Pistons. The 26-game streak equals the league record for consecutive losses. If the Sixers lose this evening they’ll try for a win Monday when they square off with the Hawks in Atlanta.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Mike Trout has a new contract with the Los Angeles Angels. The deal with the American League Rookie of the Year in 2012 expires in 2020 and is worth $144.4 million. Trout was the runner-up in the AL MVP voting the last two seasons.
