Police Investigate Deadly Car Accident in East Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are on the scene of a deadly single car accident in east Charlotte. The accident happened on Albemarle Road and Mallard Creek Drive South around 7:30 p.m. Albemarle Road will be closed between Dooley Drive and Faulconbridge Road for a period of time while officials investigate. 

One adult and two children were pulled from the vehicle. They were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities say the passenger was killed. 

Motorists are being asked to seek an alternate route. There is no word on what caused the crashed. We have a crew headed to the scene and will have updates as they become available.
