CHARLOTTE, NC — Protesters are demanding Amelie’s French Bakery show its employees some respect!  About a dozen people picketed outside the bakery in NoDa Wednesday.  They were supporting former employee Justin Miller who resigned on Facebook.  He says he quit because Amelie’s employees are underpaid and are often asked to work off the clock.

“If I didn’t go public with it,” said Miller, “business would just continue on as usual.  Amelie’s is an institution in Charlotte.  They could practice these same labor practices for the next 40 years.”

Miller has started a Change.org petition to get Amelie’s to offer what he calls a “livable wage”.  A bakery co-owner said last wee that an independent third party would review all employment policies.
