Β During WCCB News @ 10, we told you about the transgender student at CPCC who says a security guard harassed and humiliated her as she came out of the women’s bathroom. Β The female guard asked to see some ID from Andraya Williams, who says it’s because of the way she looks. Β Andraya and her attorney are considering filing a civil rights complaint.
The school sent out a statement today saying, “The College does not tolerate harassment of any kind. Β College personnel have been investigating the incident in question for several days, and the goal is to reach an amicable resolution with the student in the near future.” Β It also said they believe they’re in compliance with the law, and plan to continue a dialog with LGBT leaders.
