DETROIT (AP) — Major League Baseball’s replay system was temporarily unavailable for the Detroit Tigers early in their game against the Baltimore Orioles.

Both managers were informed of the technical difficulty during the first inning Sunday and it was repaired.

MLB expanded use of instant replay this season, allowing most calls to be subject to a manager’s challenge. Final decisions to confirm or overturn calls are made from a replay booth in New York.

Baseball began using replay in 2008 to resolve disputes on potential home runs. It was last of the four major North American professional leagues to use video reviews.
