CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say a man was killed after after being struck by a vehicle in east Charlotte. Lal Mang, 66, was attempted to cross Idlewild Road just before 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening when he was hit by a vehicle.
The driver, Katrina Barringer, immediately pulled over and called 911. Police say Mang had been drinking and attempted to cross the road without the aid of a pedestrian crosswalk or traffic signal.
Investigators also say he was wearing dark clothing. No charges have been filed.
