CHARLOTTE, NC — Parents rushed to pick up their kids Wednesday after a 90 minute lockdown at Northwest School of the Arts. It began around 1pm after reports that a student had a weapon. CMS police searched the campus, but couldn’t find anything. One grandparent says she’d like to see more done to protect students.
“Security,” said Samantha Stuidivant. “They should have security in school. Where they come in and check kids every morning. When I grew up in New York, in high school, that’s what they had. And they having so much stuff going on in school today.”
Even though the lockdown was lifted, CMS police say they are still investigating the report.
