Β CHARLOTTE, NC — A woman and her dog were found dead inside a burning house in North Charlotte. Β Firefighters made the discovery just before 12:30pm on Poplar Springs Drive in Derita. Β Detectives haven’t released the cause of the woman’s death. Β Neighbors say at first they didn’t realize what was going on.
“Yeah, right this close too,” said neighbor Donna Terry. Β “This close and I didn’t have no idea. Β Like they said, it was contained, so I didn’t see or hear any smoke.”
Firefighters put out the blaze in less than 15 minutes. Β The State Bureau of Investigation is also looking into the death.
