James Mitchell Withdraws From 12th Congressional District Race

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — James Mitchell announced he is withdrawing from the race for the 12th Congressional District seat Monday afternoon.

Mitchell says “it is the must prudent decision for our campaign given the circumstances.”

In Mitchell’s statement, he says he is withdrawing because of lack of funding due to the crowded field in the Democratic primary.  He continued by saying, “it became clear that it was not possible to be competitive, let alone win this race.”

Mitchell plans on spending more time with his family and focusing on his professional career.
