BOSTON (AP) — Under the watchful eyes of police and thousands of spectators, the Boston Marathon is underway this morning. The annual race is taking place a year after a pair of homemade pressure-cooker bombs killed three people and wounded more than 260 others. About 36,000 runners were registered for the race, the second-largest field in its history.

UNDATED (AP) — There are two NBA playoff games tonight. In Oklahoma City, the Thunder are out to go up 2-0 over Memphis in their best-of-seven series. The Thunder won the opening game 100-86. And in Los Angeles, the Clippers are squaring off in the second game of their series with Golden State. The visiting Warriors won the opener 109-105.
UNDATED (AP) — Four games are being played tonight in the Stanley Cup playoffs. In three of the series, a team can take a 3-0 lead with a win. Those clubs are Colorado, St. Louis and Anaheim as they lead, respectively, the Wild, the Blackhawks and the Stars. The night’s other game has Pittsburgh skating in Columbus with the series tied at 1-1.
UNDATED (AP) — The winners in golf yesterday were Matt Kuchar (KOO’-char) and Miguel Angel Jimenez (AHN’-hehl hee-MEHN’-ehz). Kuchar overcame a four-stroke deficit to finish on top of the PGA’s RBC Heritage tournament, while Champions Tour rookie Jimenez won the Greater Gwinnett Championship in Duluth, Ga.
