CHARLOTTE, NC – A busy intersection by day, dark rainy weather made conditions even worse Saturday night at the intersection of North Sharon Amity and Albemarle Road.
Police say Tonia Marie Payne was hit by a White Jeep Grand Cherokee around 10:30. The Jeep kept on going. The are crosswalks, but police say Payne wasn’t using them.
Saturday was her birthday. Payne is in serious condition at the hospital.
Police shut down part of Albemarle Road for hours conducting their investigation.
