NEW YORK (AP) — Someone pretty critic-proof is coming to Broadway: The Almighty.
Producer Jeffrey Finn on Wednesday said he hopes to mount a stage adaptation of the humor book “The Last Testament: A Memoir by God” on Broadway by 2015. The play, called “An Act of God,” will be adapted by author, David Javerbaum, and star, well, God.
A timetable, cast and creative team details will be announced later.
Javerbaum is the former head writer and executive producer of “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.” He also co-wrote the score to 2008 musical “Cry-Baby” and songs for the Tony Awards hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.
“The Last Testament: A Memoir by God” was billed as God’s celebrity autobiography.
Finn has produced “Seminar,” ”Scandalous,” ”Dead Accounts” and currently Will Eno’s play “The Realistic Joneses.”
