CHARLOTTE, NC – Early on, the Bobcats were up for the challenge against the Miami Heat. It’s the second-ever Bobcats playoff appearance. Though down in the series, the Bobcats have kept it closer than most people expected.
“I think, going into it, everyone kind of thought of the Bobcats as a bit of a joke. You know, like they weren’t gonna stand a chance. But I think we’ve held our own,” says fan Steve Hardizan.
Hardizan says he thinks playing on the big stage will help the team going into next year. “I think it’s definetly good to have playoff experience. And it’s definitely a good way to go into the Hornets,” he says.
“Oh definitely. Definitely. Especially switching over to the, I’m calling them the Horncats right now you know. Switching over to the Hornets next year,” says Raleigh resident Chris Riggan.
Riggan says he’s seen promising improvements late in the season.
“That’s what I’m sayin’. Al Jefferson was a big, you know, addition to the team when he came on. I think he really struck a lot of emotion with the team. I think if we can get some more comradery and maybe get Kemba Walker to put up another 30, I think we actually stand a chance,” he says.
“I mean if we can squeak a couple of games out of the Heat, we can get, maybe another potential player next year,” says Brandon Riggin.
And Carl Caldwell sees good times ahead for Charlotte sports fans. “And it’s big for Charlotte. It’s real big for Charlotte. We got the Panthers on track. And now get the Bobcats on track, we’ll be rolling,” he says.
