Waiting Child: Latisha

This video is no longer available.

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- This week’s Waiting Child has a big heart.  She’s kind, generous and loves animals.  Through journaling this 16 year old expresses herself by writing.  One continuous wish she finds herself jotting down– finding a family to call her own.

Latisha’s a typical teenage girl.  She loves fashion, swimming, dancing and singing.  She says her favorite subject is English and she even keeps a journal, “I write down my feelings, what I did that day.  I write down my goals I set for that day and I write down how I can accomplish those goals.”

When Latisha gets older she wants to be a veterinarian.  If she could have any pet right now she would want a dog, a parrot and maybe some fish, “I just love animals.  I love hanging out with animals.  They’re more easier than people.”

Growing up Latisha had to endure many obstacles, but she says it never broke her down, “You can’t be angry at the world because something bad happened to you.  You have to learn from it and be able to grow from it.”

Consider adoption, you have the choice to change a life forever.
