GASTONIA, N.C. – A Belmont man is behind bars charged with hiitting and killing John Wayne King who was found dead on East Long Avenue. Jerry Orrell is facing multiple charges inlcuding second degree murder and felony hit and run.
King’s freinds and family held a candlelight vigil on Saturday to remember the 53 year old King.
Investigators are still looking for a second hit and run suspect, possibly driving a Toyota car. The crash happened on Friday the 18th on East Long Avenue. Anyone who knows anything about the incident is asked to call Gastonia Police at 704-866-3300.
