CHARLOTTE, NC — Richard Petty is helping feed thousands of hungry families in the Charlotte area. The King helped unload 40,000 pounds of protein for the Second Harvest Food Bank. All the food is donated by Smithfield Meats, a Petty sponsor, and Publix. The former NASCAR driver says he’s made similar donation drops all over the country.
“It just, it makes you feel good you can work with people that give back to the community,” said Petty. “And you know what, everybody around here is doing that. Yeah.”
Second Harvest Food Bank feeds families in Mecklenburg and surrounding counties in North and South Carolina.
