PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill has lost his civil-rights lawsuit over a 10-hour police stop.

In a note, jurors say they believe both the 26-year-old Mill and Philadelphia police made mistakes. However, they say he was not illegally detained.

Mill was seeking at least $400,000 in lost income from the stop, which caused him to miss a launch party for his 2012 debut album.

Police say they smelled marijuana and detained Mill, an Atlantic Records executive and two others for nearly 10 hours. No drugs were found or charges filed.

Mill, who is black, says he thought the stop was racially motivated.

Both lead officers were also black. One was later fired for lying about another traffic stop.

Mill’s career was just taking off with the debut of “Dreams & Nightmares.”
