Β CHARLOTTE, NC — The Wells Fargo Championship is underway at Quail Hollow Club. Β No Tiger, no Bubba, no problem. Β It didn’t stop thousands of golf fans from attending what continues to be one of Charlotte’s premier sporting events. Β WCCB Charlotte sports anchor Kelli Bartik spent the day at Quail Hollow Club. Β She found something new for fans this year.
In addition to checking out their favorite golfer, fans are also checking out what’s becoming a new favorite hangout spot: the Green Mile Village. Β “It’s amazing,” said Charlotte resident Liza Barker. Β “I do find it reall cool that they took out all the trees, put in that whole green mile executive thing, and to be able to have a cell phone area is awesome.”
Lake Norman resident T.J. Ford adds, “It adds excitement for the fans and gives them a better experience. Β I think it’s great. Β I’ll be back here.”
The Green Mile Village includes golf simulators and concessions.
