Lancaster Man Shot Daughter and Grandmother Because They May Have Been Witnesses

 

 
LANCASTER, S.C. — WCCB is learning the possible motive behind a man who shot two women before taking his own life. 
 
According to Lancaster Police, it appears that Sammy Baskins Jr. was attempting to find witnesses and paperwork associated with charges against him of Criminal Sexual Conduct on a Minor.
 
Baskins court date was set for Tuesday, May 6. The name of the child is not being released. 
 
Baskins shot his own daughter, 28 year old Jameisha Clark at the Palmetto Place Apartments and Clark’s Grandmother, 63 year old Dorothy Caskey on Penny Street over the weekend.
 
Caskey was not related to Baskins.
 
The two women, Clarks and Caskey, remain in the hospital and are in serious but stable condition.
